Kefalonia’s answer to mineral whites: rare indigenous Vostilidi grape delivering citrus, freshness and a distinctly saline island character.

The Haritatos family has been growing grapes in Kefalonia since 1863, working with indigenous varieties like Vostilidi, Mavrodaphne and Muscat to produce small quantities of expressive wines shaped by the island’s terroir. Guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention, the estate promotes a diverse ecosystem of orchards, olive groves, herbs, and grazing animals that support a rich natural balance for the vines.

Hariton 2023 is made from 100% indigenous Vostilidi grown in Kefalonia. It shows lifted aromas of grapefruit, bergamot, white peach, and honeysuckle, with a vibrant expression of the variety.

High natural acidity is balanced by a rich, creamy mouthfeel, leading to a striking combination of freshness and a long, saline mineral finish.

It pairs beautifully with fried calamari, grilled fish, lemon roast chicken, pasta dishes, and fresh summer salads.

Haritatos Estate

Kefalonia, Greece

Regenerative viticulture is not a trend at Haritatos Estate, but a way of life passed down through generations. The Haritatos family have been growing grapes since 1863 and the estate is now managed by three siblings—Ioanna, Haritos, and Konstantinos—with the support of their extended family.

Based in Lixouri, Kefalonia, the estate benefits from warm days and cool nights that bring depth and intensity to the grapes. Working with indigenous varieties such as Vostilidi, Mavrodaphne, and Muscat, the family produces small quantities of wines that reflect both the Kefalonian terroir and a holistic philosophy.

Minimum intervention guides every stage of production. All work in the vineyard, from pruning to harvest, is done by hand in harmony with the seasons. The vines are dry-farmed and low-yielding, producing fruit of concentration and character.

Sustainability extends beyond the vineyard, with orchards, olive groves, a botanical garden, seasonal vegetables, and medicinal herbs grown alongside the vines. Sheep and goats naturally manage the undergrowth, sharing the land with a rich biodiversity of lizards, insects, and native flora and fauna.
